Hatteras Seafoods Online: Shipping

Shipping Method: All retail orders are shipped via FedEx 2-Day Ground to ensure freshness and product integrity within our established two-day shipping zone. If you are located outside of our two-day shipping area, please contact us directly for a custom shipping quote.

Shipping Days: 
Orders ship Monday through Wednesday only to prevent weekend transit delays. Orders placed after the weekly cutoff will ship the following Monday.

Processing Time:
Orders are processed within 2 business days prior to shipment. During peak seasons or holidays, processing times may be slightly extended.

Packaging & Freshness Guarantee: 
All seafood is carefully packed in insulated containers with gel ice packs or dry ice as needed. Products are shipped flash-frozen to maintain optimal quality during transit. If you would like to place a fresh seafood order, contact us directly for a custom quote. 

Each shipment includes a Time Temperature Indicator (TTI) inside the box. This indicator allows you to visually verify that your seafood has remained within a safe temperature range during transit. If you have any questions regarding the condition of your shipment upon arrival, please contact us immediately.

Delivery Timeline: 
FedEx 2-Day refers to business days.

Example:
Ships Monday → Delivers Wednesday
Ships Tuesday → Delivers Thursday
Saturday, Sunday, and holiday delivery is not included unless specifically arranged.

Delivery Responsibility: 
All shipments are sent “No Signature Required.” This means FedEx will leave the package at the delivery address without obtaining a signature. Packages may be left at the front door, porch, or another location deemed safe by the carrier.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address is secure and that someone is available to promptly receive and properly refrigerate or freeze the contents upon arrival. Hatteras Seafoods Retail Market is not responsible for product loss or damage due to delayed retrieval after delivery confirmation.

No Return Policy: Due to the perishable nature of our seafood products, all sales are final and we do not accept returns. If there is a concern regarding the condition of your order upon arrival, including the Time Temperature Indicator, you must contact us immediately so we can review and address the situation promptly.

Shipping Rates: Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on package weight, size, and destination.

Weather & Carrier Delays: 
Due to the perishable nature of seafood, we reserve the right to delay shipment during extreme weather conditions or unforeseen carrier disruptions to protect product quality.

Order Notifications: 

Customers will receive:

  • An email with the final invoice once the order has shipped,
  • A shipping confirmation email with tracking information.
